The Latest in COVID-19

Dear Valued Partner,

 

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 has become a global crisis of unknown effects and length. From the beginning, we have made decisions aimed at protecting our clients and employees by activating the necessary protocols in hotels. Unfortunately, the official restriction on the movement of people compels us, at this time, to temporarily suspend certain hotel activity in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica.

To better adjust to the current situation, we have adapted our booking policies. Please see below the most updated information:

CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS

Guests who book through a tour operator or online travel agency are advised to contact their booking provider for information on the policies they are applying.

For stays traveling through April 30th, 2020:

  • All no shows and cancellation penalties will be waived

For stays starting travel May 1st through June 30th, 2020 (new and existing bookings) and
booked by April 30th, 2020:

  • 24hrs + before arrival - no penalty

  • within 24 hrs will result in a 1 night penalty

For stays starting travel July 1st, 2020 (new and existing bookings) and all bookings made starting May 1st, 2020:

  • Original cancellation policy will apply

Changes will be permitted without penalty. Any price increase will be the responsibility of the customer.

Guests also have the option to change to another property within the same resort category in a different destination with no additional fee or cancellation penalty.

If the rate is lower on the new travel date, the client will be refunded the rate differential.

If the client wishes to change the resort category, they would be responsible for any price increases.

GROUPS

For groups booked by April 30th, 2020 for travel from May 1st to December 21st, 2020 (new and existing bookings):

  • Iberostar Hotels & Resorts cancellation penalty will be 24 hours for FIT bookings, and 72 hours for social groups

  • Group guests also have the option to change to another property within the same hotel category in a different destination with no additional fee or cancellation penalty

  • If the rate is lower on the new travel date, the client will be refunded the rate differential. If the client wishes to change the hotel category, they would be responsible for any price increases

  • Full balance will be due 30 days prior to group arrival

  • Any deposits or payments already received will be applied toward the future date

  • If the group is relocating to another hotel in a different destination, the deposit is transferable to the new hotel
